This new Slim Lady’s coachworks (case) and dashboard (dial)
draw inspiration from the world of classic automobiles as they evoke a vintage
heritage by playing on themes of light and color in eight variations, each with
its own character. Dozens of pastel hues in Caribbean & sky blues,
pistachio green, lavender & other hues have been carefully considered,
rejected, and selected to develop the final pastels that made the cut.
On the dial, Geneva Waves add a touch of panache as they
hint at the mechanical nature of the newly developed engine within. The retro
look is emphasized with a sub-second display at 6 o'clock reminiscent of the
'Belle Époque' designs, while the Slim Vintage is comfortably secured to the
wrist with a matching full grain leather strap integrated seamlessly into the
case, each of which is made in-house by Franck Muller’s own team of expert
artisans in their Swiss facility.
The Slim Vintage collection is presented with a 35mm wide
case (at the mid-section), and as the name implies is exceptionally thin at
only 9.1mm thanks to a new and very flat movement manufactured by the brand.
This new caliber (MVT FM 708-S6) is automatic winding, offers a power reserve
of 42 hours and accurately tracks time with a 21,600 BPH frequency. Super slim
at only 3.73mm, this new movement incorporates 125 separate components, each
hand decorated and assembled in Genthod.
Vanguard Lady Slim Vintage offers the best of Independent
Swiss watchmaking traditions, blending vintage elegance with the technical
prowess of a contemporary and unique mechanical movement designed and built by
Franck Muller.
