Cintrée Curvex is one of Franck Muller’s timeless timekeeping collections distinguished by its emblematic shape and arched case. In this latest version, Franck Muller unveils the Cintrée Curvex Double Retrograde Hour. The display on this timepiece features two retrograde sectors: one arc for the day (from 6 AM to 6 PM) on the upper arc, and another for the night (from 6 PM to 6 AM) on the lower arc. Unlike the traditional hour hand, which makes a full circle around a central axis, the Double Retrograde Hour displays the time with two hands, each moving along an arc. When they reach 6 o'clock, these hands instantly snap back to their starting position, alternately representing the hours of the day and night.
Inside the flowing curves of the case lies a new
complication conceived, designed, and fabricated by Franck Muller’s own team of
watchmakers and brought to life at the Franck Muller Watchland Manufacture in
Genthod, Switzerland. This new MVD
800-ANJR automatic winding movement is built with 249 decorated components achieving
a power reserve of 42 hours. Anti-magnetic and shock resistant, the new caliber
joins the myriad complications already put forth by the house of Muller.
Available in four materials (18kt white & yellow gold, stainless steel and platinum), three case sizes, and as many as twenty three colorways, the variety within this new member of the Franck Muller family speaks to the prolific nature of the brand. On each version, the dial is formed with a sunray pattern as a base. After plating in precious metal, each unique colorway is applied followed by 25 layers of clear lacquer.
The Cintrée Curvex Double Retrograde Hour symbolizes the art
of watchmaking at Franck Muller, merging timeless aesthetics with innovative
mechanics. This timepiece, a reflection of Franck Muller's expertise and
creative audacity, represents an invitation to explore time in a renewed and
poetic form
