At first glance, the uninitiated may wonder what’s going on with numerals on the dial. They seem to be applied in the wrong places, in an almost haphazard and random manner. This is of-course another example of Franck Muller’s iconic “Crazy Hours” complication. While the minute hands of the Crazy Hour work per-usual, the hour hand is engineered to instantly jump five positions ahead of the current hour to where the next numerical hour of the day is located.  

Precisely launched as the minute hand passes the top of the hour at the end of the 60^th minute, Crazy Hours owners appreciate watching (and showing off) their hour hand as it leaps forward, tracking time in its own inimitable way around the dial. 

First developed by Franck Muller in 2003, the Crazy Hours components not only keep track of time & compute the location for the next jump, but they also gather and store a discreet amount of energy throughout the passing hour to effortlessly launch the hour hand to its next destination in the blink of an eye when triggered.

Housed in our Vanguard titanium case, the Crazy Hours American is robust, lightweight, bio-compatible, and makes an excellent choice for watch lovers with sensitive skin as it contains virtually no nickel or other allergens. In addition to its hypo-allergenic properties, titanium is also one-third lighter than steel, making the flowing curve of the Vanguard case even more comfortable on the wrist.

Completing the look is the blue Alligator strap with red stitching and a rubber base. As usual, these are made in-house by Franck Muller’s own team of artisans. This American edition uses a solid titanium butterfly-style buckle with the FM logo to hold your timepiece securely and comfortably in place.
